who else thinks that hollywood should make a live action movie of space battleship yamato?

that’s the old tv cartoon also known as “star blazers”. heck, hollywood is already doing speed racer and gatchaman (aka. battle of the planets/ g-force)

Well, the problem is that Uchuu Senkan Yamato is too Japanese.

The name and word “Yamato” itself is synonymous with “Japan”.

Hollywood doing Yamato will be the equivalent of a Japanese studio doing a movie with the starship Enterprise, that is formerly CV-6 U.S.S. Enterprise that used to serve in World War II.

I say, skip Uchuu Senkan Yamato and do its clone instead, Chou Jikuu Yousai Macross. That way you get BOTH Yamato and Gundam in the same package, plus Transformers as a bonus.

The characters have to be changed though (like “Transformers”), plus the songs can no longer be J-Pop (unless it’s like “Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed”), and it needs the military backing to provide a true military sense (like “Transformers”).
