What are some cool modle engines that run off strang types of fuel?

I am starting a engine collection. So far I have a Wilesco steam engine, Ohlssan and Rice engine, and a german engine that runs off deisel. If you know of or have any cool/strange engines that run off deisel, water, moonshine , corn oil ECT. That would be great. I am not interested in Gasoline engines because they are used everyday and everywhere,Tyler

Diesels can run off of corn oil, and gasoline engines can run off of alcohol. You might want to add the “hit and miss” kerosene engines of the late 1800′s and early 1900′s to your list. They used kerosene as a fuel. The gasoline engine is a lot more versatile than you give it credit for since it can be run off of a number of fuels that would put it in your “strange fuel” category. Hydrogen can be used to run a gasoline engine. Water is a dream that people have, but the physics of it just do not work out. The idea is to use water as a source of hydrogen, and there just is not enough energy to make enough hydrogen to run the engine. It would be a grand idea if there was a way to cause the water to instantly change to oxygen and hydrogen, but we do not yet have that capability. The Sterling engine might be of interest since it runs off of heated air, or a similar “working fluid” and a heat source of some kind, such as the sun.
