Trek Custom

Can you use a carbon drive belt instead of a chain on a BMX bike?
Y’know, the ones Trek has been using on their street bikes.
I want to work towards a custom (but quite basic) street BMX bike, and was curious if I would be able to use a carbon drive belt instead of a traditional train. I don’t know too much about bikes…so I don’t know if the distance between the 2 gears is the same or even the same type? I would really like a chain that doesn’t rust, kink, or fall out of place.
Best answer should have a link or 2 to written proof, if possible.
You have to have a frame designed to work with a belt drive. It either has to have a specially designed rear triangle, or a raised chainstay to fit the belt
