i have a black slate shower floor and walls ,around the drain on the floor the black looks grey help?

Black stone looks wonderful when new, but it’s not very forgiving, because all stone used in construction is porous to some degree, and it shows “water spots”. What you have is calcium/lime buildup, from standing water evaporating, and leaving the calcium behind. You might be able to clean it with tcp or other phosphorous based cleaning agent and a stiff bristle brush, or you might have to replace the stained pieces of stone. To protect the stone after you make it look new again, paint on a sealer like grout sealer, granite sealer, flat finish polyurethane, etc. I prefer to use tile which looks like stone, because the tile isn’t pervious to water and it cleans more easily. When I use real stone, I avoid “pure” colors, preferring mottled/splotchy colors which are more forgiving.
