soldering iron and heat shrink tubing?

Hi, basically i know if you use a heat gun on heat shrink tubing (plastic) it is fine, but is it safe to use a low wattage soldering iron with heat shrink tubing? if i touched the tubing with the soldering iron would it contract safely? any advice is useful thank you.
also if it is not safe, what would be a good alternative? thanks.
just done some researching, would a butane gas torch be any good? or is that too powerful?

you can use the iron, but avoid touching directly the tubing. Hold it directly below the tubing and let it heat by convection.

Again, with a torch, keep it distant.

Use a hair dryer.
