how important are service hours to colleges?

i’m looking at schools like brown, boston u, duke, vanderbilt, and dartmouth. i have the grades and the courses required, for the most part. i’m wondering how important service hours are to schools like these. i have earned just about 650 service hours, if not more, since i started high school three years ago.

I don’t agree with the person above me (icanttellyoumyname).
GPA is definitely not the most important (although having a good one doesn’t hurt).
And having service hours is not the most important either, but schools do like seeing that you also put time into doing extracurricular activities.

I think what is the most important is your SAT/ACT score and your admission essay.
Your admission essay shows who you are, more so than anything else in the college admission process.

Just keep it up and start your college admission application early (summer before senior year). As long as you try, you have a chance of being accepted. If you don’t try at all, you’ll never know.
