Why does my semi-gloss spray paint have a matte finish when dry?
I sprayed the paint on a plane model evenly but the coat of paint remains a matte finish when the can indicates that the paint indeed has a semi-gloss finish. help?
There are two reasons that you will not get the finish expected — one is that it was applied improperly – the surface was not prepared correctly or the varnish was not sprayed on according to directions.
The other reason is that you have a different expectation as to what a semi-gloss vs. a matte finish is supposed to look like. What is the brand of finish – and did you look at a finished item to see if the finish you ended up with was the way it was supposed to look?
