The mission of the zoo is to be a leader in conservation, captive breeding and animal care.  The zoo was founded in 1926 to house the collection of exotic animals of Spencer Penrose.  After Labor Day, the carousel runs on weekends, weather permitting. There are 172 species of wild animals, engaging exhibits and irresistible attractions just waiting to entertain you at the zoo.

Idea #2:  Applefest – Cedaredge, Colorado. This festival brings together nearly 15,000 visitors to enjoy the wide variety of food and activities.  Location: Five miles east of Delta on Highway 92 Cedaredge town limits located 11 miles north on Highway 65.
