I Heard That A Dark Sable Is A Different Color Than Just Sable In The GSD! Is That True!?

I was talking to a friend and they asked what coat color I wanted am looking for in a German Shepherd Dog, and I said I wanted a Black and Tan or a Black and Red, and she said why not a Sable or a Dark Sable color. I said Sable and Dark Sable are probably the same color. I don’t know, so that’s why I am asking. Please try to be nice when answering. I know that there is Black and Tan, Black and Red, White, Black, and Sable.

The national breed club only has “sable” listed as a color, not “dark sable”. I would think a dark sable is a personal judgment on the hue of the coat.
