Define these terms please? Central dogma? Protein synthesis?

Sincerest apologies for disrupting your personal evening time. A biology test awaits approximately 12 hours from now and I am in a rather distressed state of mind. There are a few words I am not quite comprehending or simply do not know the definitions to. Your knowledge is throughly appreciated.

Promoter region:
DNA sequence at the 5′-end which gives signal where transcription to begin and to direct Polymerase II positioning.

TATA box:
A core promoter consisted of multiple TA nucleotides.

Transcription unit:
DNA sequence that produces mRNA which encodes protein and along with other sequences needed for the transcription process.

Poly-A tail:
A long string of A’s (around 100-200 adenosine nucleotides) at the 3′-end of mRNA. Added by the poly(A) polymerase.

5′ cap:
A modified form of G (guanosine nucleotide) after the transcription of the first 20 to 40 nucleotides at the 5′-end of mRNA.

RNA splicing:
A process of removing the non-coding segments (introns) and joining the coding segments (exons) after the mRNA transcription.
