Medea Body

Medea Body
In the play, medea, by euripides, after killing her sons, did she?

take the bodies with her?
in my classical myth book, by barry b. powell, he wrote that: she puts her knife to their backs throws them into a chariot drawn by dragons and prepares to leave the city.

in the play lines, its never mentioned if she took them or left them, but because she put them in the chariot that she drove makes me think that she did take them

Okay Anna, I’ve checked my edition (Penguin, 1963) and it seems at the end [1376-1405] (p.60) Medea takes them in the chariot:

Jason: Give me my sons for burial and mourning rites.

Medea: Oh no! I will myself convey them to the temple of Hera Acraea; there in the holy precint I will bury them with my own hand, to ensure that none of my enemies shall violate or insult their graves…

Hope this helps!
