Are black drum hoops better than the normal silver chrome ones?

I was just wondering because most drum kits have silver hoops (rims) and I don’t really come across ones with black hoops very often. Are the black ones more rare or stronger?

They are a bit more rare and usually will cost a little bit more but other then that its just for looks.
