What makes a great Gundam hero?

What makes the hero great that he will be remembered for years as the greatest hero of all time? What matters? His skills? Sense of humanity? Sense of justice? His talent? etc?

a hero is someone who is wise, but still charismatic.
a person who is called to serve. someone who who
believes in Retribution. not revenge.
and Yes, they are different.
Merciful, justified, vengeance.
someone who wont bask in the glory.
a person who doesnt go looking for it, but instead
waits, and does not take pride in the horrible tasks one
has to commit to keep others safe.
a humble servant. but not a slave to his conscience.
he must be brave, not fearless.
bravery, bathing in your fears, and not drowning.
Talent? well, heroes can be anyone.
someone who doesnt go looking to be a hero.
someone who is set with a task they wont like,
but still accomplish it for the good of humanity, and the world.
