Gundam Designers

If I want to learn how to draw, color, etc. Anime style, what should I study?

I’m a really big fan of Anime (especially Gundam Wing) and 3D animations (Final Fantasy VII, Dinosaur, Monsters Inc.). If I want to become a character designer/animator of such field, what should I study? Computer programming, perhaps? Sorry if I sound stupid, it’s just that… I have no idea. I idolize those who made Cloud Strife and Heero Yuy. So, like them, I want to design and animate someday. People say it’s stupid but hey, nothing’s impossible. Hehe! Anyway, I hope you can answer me. I’m no expert in anime or manga, but I do know how you can go about it. They say that you should start by Illustration for anime-style drawing, to reinforce the talent, but since you’re heading for awesome 3D stuff (Final Fantasy idolator XD), then you might as well pick up Animation. They also heap up on drawing skills, I hear. And character designing’s a part of that, too.

No, I don’t think you’re being silly. As a matter of fact, I love it XD! Keep on with your dreams! I want to become like Tetsuya Nomura, too XD!
