Why can’t birth-mother’s be able to get financial aid?

What I don’t under stand is that mothers that are in college can get finacial aid, but what i have seen is that younger people are having children so they can get financial aid. I’m going to college and i had a baby but desided to give it a better furture then what i can give him,so i put the child up for adoption, but for us females who carried a child for 9months get nothing in return, which i don’t want anything in return execpt knowing my child is fine, but it just makes no since to me why us birth mothers can not claim the children we have had on fasa. There is so much stuff out there to help parents but there is nothing out there to help the parents that might never see there children again, and for being full time student and working full time as well and not being able to get any kind of finacial aid is stupid, I am busting my butt to make the bills and yet I could be just like some of the other females and kept my child so I could get financial aid, this just makes no since.

The financial aid that single parents get is for mothers/fathers that have to be the primary financial supporter (more than the easy 9 months) to their child/children and go to college on top of that. Not every single mother can handle RAISING a child, working, and attending a university or any other form of higher education after high school. I am a single parent and i attend school — I also financially support my child and study hard enough to get a 4.0 GPA & I am also a full time student. And to me it is fair that people that gave their child up for adoption don’t get financial aid, because your tapping into funds that some people (like my daughter and I) really need. If that was the case every female that had an abortion should get financial aid bc they did carry their child for a little bit before “abording” it. If your that angry about it have another child and get financial aid.

Sorry to sound so angry but come on… You did a good thing by not having an abortion but come on…
