Can I coat my model rocket with Polyurethane to give it a glossy finish?

I’ve just built and painted an Estes Alpha rocket.
I painted it with Acrylic paint with an airbrush but would like to give it a smooth glossy finish. I found some Minwax fast drying Polyurethane finish lying around the house. Can this type of finish be used on a model rocket?
If not, what can I use?

Yes you should be able to use that. But test it first on a small area like a fin. Just to be sure it does not lift the Acrylic. Do not soak it with a thick coat at first.

Many rocketeers use Pledge Floor Finish. Is is not a wax but an actual finishing product. It dries glossy and is self leveling.

Be aware what ever you use will make any white area slightly yellowish.
