Color Vallejo

looking for a good,cheap, alternative to expensive model paint?

as the title says,i am looking for a cheaper alternative to my expensive acrylic model paints. Ive been using tamiya, Vallejo and Andrea color,and its breaking me! i have read of some folks that use the cheaper craft paints from hobby lobby/Micheal’s and that they work just fine? Ive read about such paints as delta, Anita, deco, liquidtex and apple barrel,if anyone out there has any pointers or has any experience with these paints, please let me know! also,what would one consider the best acrylic “cheap craft paint” be? how well would these paints work in my air brush? im on a tight budget now and do not have the funds to be able to do the “trial and error”like i could a few years ago! so, please if any of my fellow budget minded figure modelers out there can shoot me in the right direction, it would be great!

Michael’s has Folk Art paint on sale for $.89 a bottle. I have used in airbrushing but you need to thin it. I used an extender.
