Why does my single action airbrush spray paint even though i don’t press the trigger or is this normal?

Its a badger 200-3 Single action and I’m learning how to use it.

No this is not normal. This is usually caused by paint residue in the tip caused by improper cleaning or paint that has been left in the tip too long allowing it to become dried or partially dried and gummy. Following the cleaning instructions that came with your airbrush should clear up the problem. If it’s clean make sure the needle is inserted completely into the tip before tightening the needle chuck thumb wheel on the back of the airbrush handle. If the needle is not fully inserted that can also cause the problem you are having.
