Acrylic Paint

Does acrylic paint work well to paint a tshirt with?
I need to paint a design on a tshirt for a school dance thing and i don’t have any fabric paint. Would acrylic work well, or would it be too stiff?
It would not be on my list of reccomendations for your project. I think you would be better off using fabric markers or Sharpies. (Or some other permanent color marker similar to Sharpie)
Here are some inexpensive little investments you can make for designing your T-shirt!
-Crayola fabric markers. They last pretty long, and clean up well. They dont cost too much and there is a variety of colors to choose from.http://www.crayola.com/products/media/large/58-8623.jpg
-Deco-fabric markers. These have a fuzzy tip on the end that comes out if you want it to. When you first use these you will have to shake them up for a long time to get the felt tip soaked in color. They are a little more expensive but they’re nice for filling in big spaces with color. You have to take care of them and keep all the tops so the tips dont were out. They’re nice markers though, I use them.http://1stopsquare.com/marvy/fabric/marker/decouchida.jpg
-http://www.ericas.com/quilting/77759b.jpg Paints in tubes. You can buy colors separatley or in a package like this. Individually they go for 50 cents to a dollar. They’re not good for very large areas.

They have a chissel tip that lasts a long time and doesnt get fuz balls on it. The colors are really rich and when you are coloring they fill in evenlly. They are somewhat expensive. (up to 4 dollars each)
-http://209.41.188.26/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/pigma%20pens.gif Microns have thin, small tips but they are probablly the most beautiful colors. (they are very vibrant) They’re great for outlining, but expensive and not good for coloring in large spaces.
- Here is soemthing I just thought I’d throw in- http://z.about.com/d/painting/1/0/H/z/1/Fabric-Pens-stamp.jpg Those stamps are about 20 to 50 cents (foam). reusable, and make decorating quicker. They sell these in the stencil area at Michaels.
